Color "bands" are used to specify each band. There are three bands and sometimes four. The fourth band is the tolerance (Gold or Silver) if there is no band the tolerance is 20%. The first three bands are colored: Black = 0 Brown = 1 Red = 2 Orange = 3 Yellow = 4 Green = 5 Blue = 6 Violet = 7 Gray = 8 White = 9 The fourth band (if any) is colored: Gold = 5%, Silver = 10% , (NONE = 20%) To use this calculator simply select the color for each band from the drop down menus
